Henry Grandicki
Henry Grandicki
was born in 1948 in Sweden from parents that survived the Nazi's
concentration camps. In 1979 he moved to Israel. Having had several
hobbies during the years, from tennis to hang-gliding, one of the few
remaining till today is ceramics sculpture. Although this hobby has had
several long intervals it keeps coming back, always depending upon
when the feeling tells him to start again. This hobby is only to be
enable him to express his feelings at a that specific moment. The clay
almost forms itself during the process, starting out with an vague
idea and forming "itself" in the process, usually to something totally
else than intended to in the beginning - but nearer to the actual
feelings and thruth. This makes this collection so extremely personal
- each item has a story behind it.
